Healthcare Furnishings at HTC, Birmingham

As top healthcare furniture manufacturers, Deanestor are delighted to reflect on our work at Heartlands Treatment Centre in Birmingham.

Case Study: Transforming Patient Care at Heartlands Hospital
Deanestor was honoured to install furniture solutions for Heartlands Treatment Centre (HTC) in East Birmingham, a project that marks a significant step forward in healthcare infrastructure. Commissioned by the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and delivered by Kier Construction, the facility represents a £97 million investment in modern healthcare.

About the Project
The HTC is a four-story facility, covering 18,000 square meters, designed to improve the quality and efficiency of outpatient services. The building officially opened in January 2023 after being completed on schedule and within budget in late 2022. The new centre consolidates a broad spectrum of healthcare services into one location, enabling a seamless patient journey.

Facilities at a Glance

  • 120 consultation spaces to serve a wide range of clinical needs.
  • 26 specialised rooms for audiology and ENT services.
  • Advanced imaging facilities, including ultrasound, X-ray, CT, and MRI suites.
  • A dedicated area for endoscopy procedures and other day-case treatments.

Design Excellence and Patient Focus
The HTC was designed with a clear focus on patient comfort and accessibility. Spacious and well-lit waiting areas provide a calming environment, while accessibility features such as self-check-in kiosks in multiple languages and wheelchair-friendly amenities enhance inclusivity. Special features include private preparation areas, adaptable patient changing rooms, and a state-of-the-art MRI suite.

Deanestor’s Role
Deanestor delivered bespoke fitted furniture tailored to the specific demands of a healthcare setting. This included:

  • HTM cabinetry and storage solutions for clinical areas, ensuring optimal organisation and efficiency.
  • Fixtures and fittings: including grab rails, lockers, changing benches, mirrors, and coat hooks.
  • Installation of Trust supplied group 2 equipment.

Impact
The HTC now serves up to 1,500 patients daily. Consolidating numerous services under one roof has streamlined patient care, reduced waiting times, and improved overall efficiency.

A Vision Realised
The success of this project underscores the importance of collaboration in healthcare development. Deanestor is proud to have played a role in this transformative project, supplying furniture that meets the dual needs of functionality and aesthetic appeal.
